Marginal and conditional probability distribution functions - mathematical expectations –
variance – co-variance –correlation coefficients –rank correlation coefficients – regression
lines.
UNIT III STANDARD DISTRIBUTIONS 9
Binomial – Poisson – geometric – negative binomial – exponential – gamma – Weibull
distributions – transform of one dimensional random variable – problem using Chebychev
inequality.
UNIT IV LINEAR PROGRAMMING 9
Introduction – formulation of the problem – graphical method – canonical form and standard
forms of L.P.P – simplex method – artificial variable techniques - Big-M method – two
phase simplex method.
UNIT V FURTHER TOPICS IN LINEAR PROGRAMMING 9
Duality principle – dual simplex method. Transportation model and algorithm, assignment
