spectrum, Image sensing and acquisition, Image sampling and quantization- Concepts, image
representation, Spatial and gray level resolution, Aliasing and Morie patterns, Some basic
relationships between pixels
UNIT II IMAGE ENHANCEMENT IN SPATIAL DOMAIN 9
Background, Gray level transformation- Image negatives, Log transformations, Power law
transformations, Piecewise-Linear transformation functions, Histogram processing- Histogram
equalization, Histogram matching(Specifications), Enhancement using ALU
UNIT II I IMAGE ENHANCEMENT IN FREQUENCY DOMAIN 9
Introduction to the Fourier transform and the frequency domain – 1-D Fourier transform and its
inverse, 2-D Fourier transform and its inverse, Smoothing frequency domain filters- Ideal,
Butterworth, Gaussian low pass filters, Sharpening frequency domain filters- Ideal, Butterworth,
Gaussian high pass filters
UNIT IV COLOR IMAGE PROCESSING AND WAVELETS 9
