THE COURSE DETAILS 

This two day course is organised with an aim to familiarize the young faculty members, research scholars, and students who are pursuing their Ph.D about research methods, review of literature, use of old and modern research tools and techniques, and improving writing and presentation skills for publishing their research findings in SCI journals. This course will include both quantitative and qualitative research methodology. This course is intended to provide knowledge to the participants on better designing of their 
primary research studies, using the right methods, tools to analysis of data. On completion of this course, they will be confident of their choice of research problem and will be able to come out with a good thesis. 

The objectives of this course are: 

Introducing research methods to the participants (both qualitative and quantitative) 
Familiarizing the participants on latest techniques of research data analysis 
Enhancing their knowledge, confidence and appropriate skills for their field of research 
Improving the capability of the participants in selection of appropriate journal for their field of research and performing qualitative research article writing 
Enhancing their skills for interpretation of results and presentation in user friendly formats 

THEMES AND TOPICS TO BE COVERED IN THIS COURSE 

Introduction to scientific research, methodology and approaches in quantitative and 
qualitative research, selection and defining of research problem, methods of data collection, tools and techniques for quantitative and qualitative data analysis, communication skills, importance of impact factors and presentation, and writing research articles for SCI journals. 

WHO CAN APPLY AND NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS

This short term course is for faculty members, research scholars and students, who 
are registered and pursuing their Ph. D. The course will be for a maximum of 60 (only) participants. The criteria for selection of participants will be on first come first served basis and also on the current status of their research work. The selected participants will be informed through e-mail.

The students in a group have to develop digital and physical prototype models using RP machine / clay models of a new product/ existing product with enhanced feature involving the following areas :
 Automotive components
 Tool and die components
 Press tool components
 Consumer product
 Injection moulded products.
The fabricated models may be in the form of RP models,clay models,sheet metal modelsor card-board models etc… The design and development of the product will be reviewed in two stages for awarding internal marks. The end semester examination mark will be based on the demonstration of the new product developed and oral examination on the same by internal examiners.

Dear Students, I hope you all know well about the TANCET 2013 Exam which conducted by Anna University Chennai for the Admissions into its affiliated Institutions.

We already posted the registration details, Important dates, Tancet Exam Tips, etc., and ,many more tancet related articles.

This is article is to remind the students those who have the idea for doing PG courses. Tancet 2013 registration already started on 6th feb 2013.

Only two days are left to register for TANCET 2013.  As per the official Information 26th Feb 2012 is the last date for registration through coordinating centres and internet. If you miss this opportunity you can register only in the chennai centre, for that the Last date is 28th February 2013.
